The Troy Warrior Basketball Program

Our Philosophy

Improve the Individual: Each athlete must put in the work to be the best player they are capable of becoming for the benefit the team.
"Success comes from knowing that you did your best to become the best that you are capable of becoming." John Wooden
Build the Team: Individual athletes working together can accomplish far more than each individual member.
“One man can be a crucial ingredient on a team, but one man cannot make a team.” Kareem Abdul-Jabbar
“The best teams have chemistry. They communicate with each other and they sacrifice personal glory for the common goal.” Dave DeBusschere
Establish the Program: Each athlete is a valuable member of the Troy Warrior Basketball Program. The conduct of each player is expected to positively contribute to the overall reputation of the program. Players are accountable to each other 24 hours a day on and off the court.
“What you are as a person is far more important that what you are as a basketball player.” John Wooden
Impact the Community: Finally, players are expected to be positive role models away from the gym and have a positive impact in the surrounding community.
"If all I'm remembered for is being a good basketball player, then I've done a bad job with the rest of my life." Isiah Thomas
